Yahoo Adds Twitter Content to News Stream

In a move that shows how Yahoo values what industry organizations, outlets and people are saying on Twitter, the company announced it will be integrating tweets into the news stream on Yahoo.com.

CEO Marissa Mayer delivered the news in a blog post which detailed how the company views tweets “as [an] important information source for many of our users.” It was a natural step for Yahoo to partner with Twitter to include tweets on its website.

“Updates direct from politicians, celebrities, media outlets, and other publishers have become an important source of real-time news and information,” Mayer wrote. “140 characters can connect athletes with their fans, capture live chatter from the red carpet, and inspire global debate… so we are thrilled to announce our partnership with Twitter to bring Tweets directly into the Yahoo newsfeed.” Read more…
